andrew & i have been traveling so much these last couple of months...it has been so fun! I have been meaning to make a "travel log" of all of our trips.

this is my checklist:

-September trip to Texas
-September tournament in Colorado
-October weekend at Cabin
-October trip to Idaho
-Andrew's fly-out interview in Dallas (he left today)
-Our trip (and interviews) to Dallas (next week!)

Brian got us lots of pictures from our trip to Texas but they are on Andrew's computer..So until I get them from him, I'm starting with.....

my family has a shared cabin at Timberlakes. It is about 45 minutes away and so fun to go to. We invited our cousins Sammi and Brady to come up with us for a short weekend trip. It was so perfect...the aspens were pretty and the weather was great with just a little nip in the air. Both Sammi and I brought up loads of food and we prepared a couple of delicious meals. the Cliffords even made homemade ice cream while we were there. gosh it was so good. the cabin is so cozy and fun and sometimes I wish we could move there. I can't wait to go up there at Christmas time!

conference weekend

We had such a great conference weekend.  Andrew and I don't work on Fridays and we each only have one class, so our weekends start early.  This week was extra fun because we saw a dollar movie on Thursday night, The Proposal.  we thought it was funny but it isn't my #1 recommendation.  I thought it was so fun to go do that on a week night though. ( which reminded me that I am starting to really sound like a married woman huh!  ha ha)

Friday night we went to Tucanos (with a gift card from our wedding) and then to Andrew's mission reunion.  It was fun to see and hear a little more about his mission.  His mission president spoke and although I've met the Wards before it was good to get to know them better.  It was a really fun night.

we went up to Alpine for Conference in between sessions on Saturday.  Conference at the Bonhams is all about projects and food.  But as for me, I think the emphasis was on the latter.  My mom did it again...  Coffee cake, pumpkin bread, pot roast, mashed potatoes, cookies, and that's just the start.
mmm.  this had to be one of the best things ever.  Hot pumpkin bread and cold butter.  I could eat the whole loaf by myself. I probably did.

she also made caramel popcorn...

and a dozen other treats.

The boys went to priesthood and the girls went to see a movie!  2 movies in a week is not a usual thing for me!  It was so fun.  WE saw Julie & Julia...

it was the cutest movie ever.  I just loved it.

me, Larken, Brynne, my mom, and Grandma saw it together.

after seeing that movie I was in the mood to cook of course.  my mom and I made pesto chicken tortellini just in time for the men to come home and eat with us.

It was a fun night!  I was also thinking about our other side of the family--Andrew was missing his brothers and dad and I was thinking of my in-law women too!

Conference was very special, we loved the emphasis on families and love and are always grateful to hear from the Lord's servants.

It's crazy to think that this is the 3rd time Andrew & I have watched Conference together!!

thank you's

we have soooo many people to thank from our wedding.  It is a daunting task and we haven't had lots of time to work on it.  Originally I wanted to take a picture of us holding a big poster that said thank you / my other idea was to write a big thank you in sidewalk chalk and lay down by it on the pavement (with andrew of course) ...may sound funny but I've seen it done with a different concept and it was cute.  Anyway, we didn't have time to do either of those things so I decided to take another approach.  I put together these thank you's and we ordered them on a customizable postcard site.

                                      this is the front....

and this little guy is featured (small and in grayscale) on the back of the postcard.  And if you are reading this, I'm sure you will be getting one in the mail SOON!!!

but anyway, I was just so relieved to get started on the thank-you process!  it will feel good to get them all sent out.

snuggies

for a wedding present, someone sent us two snuggies.  they are the fleece blankets with sleeves on infomercials?  at first we thought we would definitely return them.  but one morning i woke up early to study and I was freezing.  I was looking around for a blanket but realized they were all in the bedroom where Andrew was still sleeping, and i didn't want to wake him up.  Then I saw the snuggie box out of the corner of my eye.......

andrew woke up to find this:

he made fun.  now he calls me "snugs"...

but who's laughing now??

hot dog ha ha

over the summer we discovered 98% fat free Oscar Meyer hot dogs.  they taste pretty good and are actually pretty healthy for a quick snack. but anyway... we got a panini maker for a wedding present, and we have been cooking the hot dogs like them on the BBQ.  however, the other day I learned that you shouldn't leave them on for too long.

ha ha.  I took a picture because I thought it was soo funny.  just a blackened hot dog.

look how skinny it is.  ha ha ha

photoshop

Andrew got me Photoshop elements when he bought his new Macbook.  I haven't gotten lots of time to use it yet but this was my first creation. the only hitch is is don't know why it all turned out in black and white. I haven't figured out how to turn off that setting yet..ha ha.  i can't wait to find out everything that I can do with this program!
