50 reasons...

i decided to try my hand at digital scrapbooking for a Christmas present that my mom wants to make for my dad.... a scrapbook of "50 reasons why we love Dad" since he turned 50 this year and this book did not get finished for his birthday.

anyway... we decided we would print it with a bookmaking company and since I was the one who has photoshop.. i got to do all 50 pages.

Merry Christmas mom.

These are some of my favorites. they don't have the right pictures or labels added yet but they are just the backgrounds/basic ideas.

coming soon...

I am making curtain for our bedroom (its about time we took down the blanket...)

Well. this dress was my inspiration for our curtains...
stay tuned and you'll see how..

citron.

humanities....who knew

me and humanities, we're not fond of each other.

there are bits and pieces that i like/are interesting....but as a school subject I could do without.
however.. i found something I actually really liked in class.

this is the month of february in the gothic calendar made by
the Limbourg brothers for the Duc de Berry.

I would like to have a framed one in my house someday. The original is somewhere in France. Except i would cut off the actual calendar (blue part) from the top.

and yes... this does mean i should be studying for my humanities final.....

last but not least

i am so equipped for winter now because Andrew got me uggs!! I am excited to have a pair of these warm and snuggly boots. we had some gift card money to dillards and we put it towards these lovely fuzzy boots.
this is me and Christy up at Urban Outfitters at Gateway in Salt Lake. Over Thanksgiving break the Webers invited us to go up to Salt lake with them to Cheesecake factory and we walked around Gateway afterwards. it was a really fun night. this is Christy and me trying to be prissy i think...... ha ha .

apartment continued

a couple little updates to our apartment.

i was hoping to get a little bench for the end of our bed. but i ended up going with this old trunk I found at an antique store. My mom's friend gave us a gift certificate to it that we hadn't used yet and I thought it fit in pretty well with the room.
I am going to make a cute little cushion for the top. I just haven't decided how to make it work with our busy busy bedspread (that i love).
I used these little vintage price tags just for fun
i think the bird is so cute ha ha

this is hanging in the bathroom. it looks cuter in real life

and this is on top of the toilet. ha ha

and this lovely shot is the real stumper left to figure out in the apartment. this quilt has been hanging as our curtain for months (I am planning to make one) and we don't really have room for the TV in our room. to be continued.....

have I ever said how much I love Christmas?

I really do. When I was little I'd do a countdown nearly all year I love everything about Christmas. Even though I like Thanksgiving a lot, I am always a little happy when it ends because Christmas music and decorations start.

I have been working on a couple projects for Christmas. First of all, we didn't have any stockings...... so I made some that I am pretty happy with.

this is in my parent's house right after I finished them...

and we just hung them up in our house! I love them. Even though it has trim, I think Andrew's is still masculine, ha ha.

I chose burlap and added a doily / trim. The inside is lined with red ticking.
I also bought two wreaths today. I don't have a tree up yet so I made sort of an ornamented wreath.

this wooden circle is the top of an old electrical spool. I fixed it up and we have been using it as a coffee table top, but in our crowded little family room it was getting to be really annoying cause we never finished it and it was all skiwampus. we would bump the table and the top would come off, etc. So we bought a new dual purpose ottoman/coffee table for the family room off of Craigslist......

long story short, we decided to hang up the spool on the wall as kind of art instead. it is the perfect background for the wreath. I really like it.

the wall behind our couch (finally not empty!!)

when we do get a tree, I have been working on a few ornaments.

i got a couple trinkets at an antique store...dominos, a tea tin, and an old key. I made the dominos into ornaments that turned out cute.

here's a little ornament I stitched.
here's the other wreath:
just simple but i like it too.

merry christmas!!

our tiny apartment

yes I know we have been married for over 3 months. But as of yesterday the walls were still mostly bare.

my dear husband tried a new strategy to motivate me..... the ultimatum. "either tell me where to hang this or it goes" ..which I guess after 3+ months is reasonable. So this weekend we have really made some progress on the walls of our tiny apartment.

here is the entry. Andrew's Boppa's grub box is one of our favorite things. It is the perfect little hutch for keys, etc. to keep in the entry. It also reminds Andrew of his grandpa who he was very close to and has a cool history. We also keep the cake topper from our wedding on it as a decoration.
My sister-in-law Marcia gave us this framed picture with quotes all around it for a wedding gift. We love it! she is so creative.
We put this Pickup sign over our door (finally!). It is also a wedding gift from my sister-in-law Malinda! we love this too. it represents our little family...

I made this little pin board out of an old frame and burlap. I love the way it turned out and I poked a couple of pins that I have gotten from lacrosse trips on it for now...
here's our little bookshelf area (but the actual bookshelf needs some help so I left it out of the picture ha ha) I painted some numbers on a collection of glass jars that I filled up with loose ends from around the house. I don't know if I want to keep it that way though. it looks better in real life than in the picture but it is kinda jumbled looking.

i finally erased the menu from our wedding reception that was on this board...and added my own thanksgiving message ha ha.
I'm not satisfied with this picture but this was our major project. This is the wall above our bed that we have hung a collection of frames and yada yada on. It may be a little unfinished but we really like it so far. I will have to get a better picture...maybe I should actually make the bed before i take it?

drumroll . . . .

vs.
vs.

Where can you find us next summer?

Andrew interviewed and got offers from Ernst & Young, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Deloitte.

they are the 3 biggest accounting firms and each one would have been a good choice. so it was a big
the decision but it has been made.............!

Andrew will start his summer internship with E&Y in June and then will [most likely] start his career with them the following fall.

pretty exciting!

last weekend the weather was gloomy so Andrew and I were inside all day. Well we started to feel really cooped up and we thought of playing racquetball! we rented all the equipment and played at the RB on campus for free.

turns out neither of us actually know the rules to racquetball... but we made up some pretty good ones i think.

the weirdest thing was the door into the court. It was like a little 2 ft. high leprechaun door.

we had to shlump down to enter...

shots of our finesse... ha ha
we played 3 games, Andrew won 2 and I won 1. it got a little heated. there should be little captions with $%&$# 's under the pictures. ha ha. just kidding. it was lots of fun,

andrew and I do get a little competitive though . .

so I meant to post this ...6 days ago. Not too bad. My sister Larken turned 22 last Wednesday! We went to TGIFriday's for dinner with our family and some of her friends. It was so fun, we had LOTS of time to talk (the service wasn't the best that night...Andrew had time to eat his rushed order, leave, play a whole basketball game, and come back before they brought us complimentary desserts to say sorry for the wait time ha ha). I hope she had a good birthday.

Larken and I have always been close. I put together a little collage of pictures from when we were little.

these pictures show the typical childhood reality that larken was always the pretty one and I was the cute one (except during what Andrew likes to call my "Jonathan Taylor Thomas stage" in which i am neither pretty OR cute)... ha ha some things never change. that's okay.

we were always full of shenanigans together. I remember we were so mad when we moved to Utah because it meant we wouldn't get a year to go to high school together. She has always been my best friend and so much fun. your 22nd year will be the most fun and full of gumption and frolicking yet. i'm pretty sure.

we had a sleepover the other night because Andrew is out of town and we watched design shows for about 4 hours.

i'm wearing her shoes as we speak.

aren't sisters the best?

love, meredith
ha ha ha. this is a little creepy looking. Last night Andrew was out of town so 3 of my friends slept over. Somehow we got on the topic of doing that thing on the internet where you upload pictures and see what your baby will look like. so after doing a morph of my face with president obama's (that one was truly ugly) I did one of pictures of Andrew and I. what do you think? I hope our real babies are cuter! ....I would give anything for them to get the dimples from the Pickup side!!

PS. you will still have to wait a year or two to see what the real version of this will look like ha ha!
