our mexican honeymoon
the day after our wedding, we woke up and had strawberry waffles and whipped cream. we watched "the notebook" because Andrew knows watching movies in the morning is one of my favorite things to do. mmmm
we opened presents at nana’s with all the family, we couldn’t believe how generous people were to us! we are so lucky and so blessed.
we went to tepanyaki that night and got free ice cream as a wedding present. yum.
the next day we got ready for our trip and stopped at winger’s for lunch on our way out! andrew knows the key to my heart, ha ha.
the drive was so fun…except I fell asleep 20 minutes into it! andrew was getting sleepy too so we pulled off on a wilderness exit and took a nap in the truck. needless to say we got a late start!
we read to each other on the drive down to keep us from getting bored. we drove without a map and just guessed on where we were going. it worked! we even found an in-n-out in vegas to eat dinner. (one of Andrew's favorites).
this is the book we read. it was okay, but we didn't love it. a lot of parts were about this dog. i guess Andrew & I aren't super animal lovers.
we stayed the night in Pasadena, although we didn’t get in til midnight! the next morning we just headed towards the port and got on the ship!
the cruise was so so so perfect! it was a full week of relaxing and playing and having fun. ice cream ice cream ice cream, we ate as many cones as we wanted! we got gourmet food 3 times a day and met so many nice people. we went on a Royal Caribbean ship called the "Mariner of the Seas". it held over 6,000 people on it! (including the crew...)
this was one of our waiters. it was really fun to meet all the international crew and find out a little about them. the service was great!
we made 3 stops: Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. one of my favorite parts was exploring mexico! we met really interesting people and it was so cool to hear Andrew use his Spanish. all the locals were so impressed! we spent lots of time at the beach, did a little shopping, and got some sun. the weather was so nice.
this is us on the glass-bottom boat tour. we saw fish and learned a little about the beautiful landscape. the water was seriously crystal clear and aqua blue. it is very picturesque.
my cute cute husband.

august 13, 2009
where do we start? there is so much…..
the salt lake temple was so beautiful and I loved to see the inside. it is so peaceful and powerful at the same time. you can tell it is the house of the Lord.
as we waited outside the sealing room, we saw our friends and family walk in– we both got emotional when we saw all these people we loved coming to support us!
our sealer Roland Wright was such a sweet old man. he was my dad’s mission president and a war veteran. he gave such a nice ceremony and said how special it was to be there with us.
andrew & I were cry babies…I couldn’t stop! it was such a special and happy day.
we were told by the photographer that we were the best kissers in the whole world (we already knew) . yeah we look good. ha ha
the luncheon was so fun! we watched our slideshow video, ate at Biaggi’s (so delicious) a program with toasts from the dads, Brian, and Larken.
Then we went home and relaxed as man & wife! We woke up from a nap and saw the whole house buzzing with people, the street was already lined with cars! we quickly started to get ready for the reception!
We walked outside to see some trickles of rain all over the backyard. we had to duck and cover…. luckily, we had lots of prayers and crossed fingers. the sun came out of hiding and it turned out to be perfect weather!
we didn’t even know what to do! I’ve never seen so many familiar faces all in one place before. it was all so fun, I wish I could have seen more and stayed longer.
a view of the backyard from above, i love how the light is sparkling
we had a barbeque, music, a long line, and so many vintage touches!
there was also a soft-serve machine for root beer floats.
we had bottled drinks, chips, cookies, and watermelon.
we got to see everyone come through the line—so fun!
the little kids loved the putt-putt course my dad built, "M&A links". it was adorable.
afterwards, we quickly got some food and a little float.
then we cut the cake! it had little green polka dot letters that said “just married”.
One of my other favorite parts was the cake topper Larken and I made. perfect.
I smashed it a little bit of cake in andrew’s face and he did the same.
then we danced! oh we danced. andrew & I were first and we danced to “my girl”. it was a good song choice, except we had never practiced! the fast beat threw us off a bit, but we finally got the rhythm and it turned out great.
we danced with our parents, and then all our friends came and danced. mima and granddaddy were the cutest.

I loved the black and white checkered dance floor with the huge gazebo top with flowers hanging over it.
little McKenzie was loving the dancing!
McKenzie dancing alone on the floor. isn't she cute? i think this photo is soo funny.
aren’t they the best? thanks so much to Maya, Kelsey, and Becca who flew in from California to help out and support me. love love love.
Austin and McKenzie
Jake and I are each other's #1 fans.
everyone walked us out to say goodbye, and we saw the “decorations” on our truck! they really went all out.
oh it was so fun. thanks so much to everyone who helped. we so loved our wedding day.
